EVICTION ALERT: MANAAS AND KAMAD IDP SETTLEMENTS

Field paralegals reported that evicted families comprise 320 protracted internally displaced households, which make up 75% of the affected population, and 170 (25%) newly displaced individuals originally from different districts such as Kuntuwaareey, Qoryoleey, Afgoye, Marka, and Barawe under Lower Shabelle regions due to droughts and insecurity. Preliminary vulnerability analysis shows that 85 are people with disabilities, 750 are children under 5 years, 165 are single mothers, 238 are elderly people, and around 534 are persons with chronic illnesses.
